Paul Jacob, in his “Common Sense” column, quotes from our recent Daily Caller op-ed about Ted Cruz and other candidates signing the “Reject the Debt” pledge before going on to comment about the dire nature of our nation’s fiscal situation:
The idea that politicians can just run up a tab indefinitely, and “feel no pain,” is absurd.
The pain is coming. The only question is: Do we act in advance to forestall some of it, or just let it hit us like a full ton brick-load?
As Jacob notes, there’s a lot at stake, and encouraging candidates to sign the “Reject the Debt” pledge as a means to hold them accountable is a necessary step in the right direction.
