Our national debt has recently surpassed over $20 trillion. It’s imperative that the Representatives that we vote into office are willing to address this debt, and not add to the problem.
This is why the Coalition to Reduce Spending is proud to include Congressional candidates who are willing to commit, on the record, to responsible federal budgeting by signing the Reject the Debt pledge.
Our latest signers, Bunni Pounds and Susan Narvaiz, two candidates running in the 5th and 21st districts of Texas, respectively, are committed to fighting this growing issue that fiscal conservatives continue to be up against.
Mrs. Pounds, an entrepreneur, conservative activist, and executive leader, is endorsed by Congressman Jeb Hensarling (TX-5) and Mia Love (UT-4), among others. Upon signing, Mrs. Pounds said, “The national debt now is a moral crisis for us as a nation as we continue to pass the debt burden on to our children and grandchildren. We can no longer ignore the perilous financial path of our country.”
Mrs. Narvaiz is the President and CEO of Core Strategies, Inc., as well as the former mayor of San Marcos, Texas. Speaking on the debt, Mrs. Narvaiz said, “In Congress, we must reform our archaic budgetary rules to restrain unnecessary government growth and stop excessive spending. When elected, I will continue to support an open dialogue on finding attainable solutions to our nation’s greatest problems.”
We are grateful to have two more candidates who are dedicated to stopping the growth of spending and debt. More information, including the full text of the pledge, can be found at http://www.ReduceSpending.org/reject-the-debt
