Additional Reject the Debt signers from Texas and Ohio

Four more individuals running for Congress have pledged to reject the debt! Hailing from Texas and Ohio, Jason Isaac (TX-21), Danny Campbell (TX-5), Mike Gibbons (OH-Senate), and Pat Manley (OH-12) are four fiscal conservatives who are committed to the principles of smaller government and reining in spending.

Jason Isaac is a small business owner and state legislator. Outside of work, he coaches youth lacrosse and serves on the board of the Texas Natural Gas Foundation. Upon signing Mr. Isaac told the Coalition:

“I truly worry about the country my boys are inheriting. Our national debt has skyrocketed, reaching nearly $21 trillion. It is simply immoral to impose this burden on future generations, jeopardizing the futures of our children and grandchildren. The lack of financial leadership on both sides of the aisle threatens our nation’s stability and long-term growth — and our own well-being. We must balance the federal budget by reducing frivolous spending, just like Texas does. I will support a balanced budget amendment that will force Congress to rein in out-of-control federal spending as part of my mission to take the Texas model of limited government to Washington, D.C. to Make America Like Texas.”

Danny Campbell is a proud Conservative Republican candidate who stands for the free market, limited government, and individual liberty. He is a former Army Infantry Officer and now works in management for one of the country’s top home builders in addition to co-owning a fitness center. Mr. Campbell told us:

“The time has come to reject big spending on warfare and big spending on welfare. Both parties, Republicans and Democrats, are to blame for the crisis facing our nation. The only way out of this is to make a concerted effort toward balanced budgets and an eventual balanced budget amendment. I pledge to introduce such legislation when elected to represent the 5th Congressional district of Texas.”

Mike Gibbons is a Senate candidate with an impressive background. He served as Managing Partner of the Cleveland Crunch professional soccer franchise, Co-Owner of Cheboygan Tap & Tool, and Co-Owner of Northern Lake Properties.  In addition, he co-founded Luna Living, a startup that provides treatment and recovery options for opioid addiction.

After signing the pledge, Mr, Gibbons said, “Congress’s spending is out of control because of career politicians. We need to reduce spending and get the government out of people’s lives. I will always put the taxpayers first.”

In addition to being a distinguished architect and businessman, Pat Manley is a constitutional and fiscal conservative. As a leukemia survivor, Mr. Manley is running on repealing Obamacare and lowering the cost of health insurance through a free and competitive market.

The 2018 elections are coming up fast. The goal of the Coalition is to reach out to every elected official and candidate for office with the opportunity to go on the record and pledge to reduce spending. We commend these four and the others who have signed our pledge committing themselves to fighting this uphill battle.

The Coalition to Reduce Spending is a non-partisan advocacy organization dedicated to limiting federal spending. The Reject the Debt spending pledge commits elected officials and candidates to (1) consider all spending open for reduction and vote only for budgets that present a path to balance and (2) vote against any appropriations bill that increases total spending and against the authorization or funding of new programs without offsetting cuts in other programs.
